The River Bend Experience
This is what real residents and their families had to say about River Bend Retirement Community
I have lived at River Bend Retirement Community in Cascade since November 2009. The residents and staff are all so kind and helpful. They made me feel like a member of their family from the first day I was here. The food is all delicious with a good variety. There are so many fun activities. I feel so at home in this homey atmosphere. I just love it!

Financial Decisions & Questions
Lilly Beringer: Granddaughter of Bill & Imelda residents of River Bend
My parents Paul and Esther Kolz moved to the River Bend Assisted Living Center in Cascade in January of 2012, after they moved from their farm. Mom was 99 at the time, and dad was 98. At the time of entry, dad was not in very good physical condition. In fact, he was placed on level 5 of care, and Hospice was seeing him weekly. His family really did not feel that dad wold see his 99th birthday which was on March 31st. Mom was in much better shape and did not need the level of care that dad required.

My sister Maureen had done some research on care facilities, and found that River Bend rated very high and had a good staff to resident ratio. My first impression on seeing the facility was very positive. It was enhanced upward even more, after meeting the helpful, curtsies and cheerful staff.

Within, a month of dad being a resident, his physical and mental condition begin to improve. By May, his condition had improved so much, he was taken off of Hospice. In July, his level of care was downgraded from a level 5 to level 3. The staff at River Bend treat their residents as people of worth. They do not have a policy of warehousing old people. Their care and attention gives value and meaning to a persons life. I feel in great part, this attitude from the staff gave my father a will to live, and to recover his strength.

This facility, is not a place to put elderly people in to die, it is a place where elderly people like my parents can live what's left of their life in care free comfort with all the dignity that they have earned in their life.

My parents enjoy the facility, like the staff, and enjoy the interaction with the other residents. Mom especially enjoys the part of not having to cook. Both enjoy having their own space, but with help available whenever it is needed.

For my part, I like to know that my parents are safe, cared for, and as happy as they can be in this stage of their life.

To all the staff that make River Bend possible, my many thanks,

Sincerely,

Karl Kolz
My grandparents, Bill & Imelda have lived at River Bend Retirement Community in Cascade for the past 3 years. They love having the privacy of their own apartment. The 24 hour a day compassionate staff helps them with their daily needs. Grandma especially loves the weekly housekeeping, social, fitness and Religious activities while Grandpa appreciates the 3 home-cooked meals, valet parking, and garage for his truck.

River Bend has round-the-clock security, a state of the art emergency call system and all residents receive a personal emergency pendant. Grandma says she feels like she is living in Vegas, which is not only a comfort to them but a comfort to our family.

In choosing River Bend my grandparents are enjoying their senior years in a fun and worry free environment.
